Angus' pedigree

On Saturday, August 3, we adopted nine-month old A-W Just When U Think Its Safe, a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy. We're calling him Angus. It just seems to fit him when you meet him. So far, Angus has proved to be very sweet and gentle and doesn't seem to mind Clayton climbing all over him in the slightest. Like most Swissies, he's a "velcro dog" and is almost always within three feet of me. Unlike many Swissies his age, though, he is pretty well housebroken (thanks, Anna!). He is also very well behaved. Although he's certainly large enough to "counter surf" if he wanted to, he hasn't even tried. He does seem to especially like plush dog toys and anything ring-shaped, though. His only quirk so far is that he is definitely not "bold": he's not yet positive that our gravity-fed water bowl won't eat him, corrections should only be verbally to him, and anything new startles him a bit at first, but he is still managing to take everything in stride.

On his second day home with us, we finally got to hear one of those famous Swissy "BAROOs" from him and boy does the boy have a voice!
