Guests that day were (below, L-R) Rhett, Eric, Ryan, Matt, Corey, Catherine, Daniel, Paul, Jimmy, Joey and Albert.
On November 13, 2004 we had perfect paintball weather and a nice big crew that included plenty of newbies to shoot at. The day's crew (below, L-R): Rhett, Matt, Cory, Paul, Catherine, Eric, Carolyn, Eric, Tom, Bill, Christian, Connie and Jay. Meanwhile, Eric Sandbach chilled inside with his son Thomas who was busy playing with Clayton and Christian's son Wolfgang.
On Saturday,
March 29, 2003 the weather was cool, overcast and windy, but the day's
paintball crew (Christian, Bill, Mike, Eric, Paul, Matt, Ryan, Eric
and Albert) pushed through and pegged each other until the daylight
waned. Then they built a bonfire and the good times continued. On January 14, 2001, we gathered friends and family to participate in our first friendly paintball war. We ended up with two teams of four players and play went on for four and a half paint-filled hours. On March 17, 2001, we held our second paintball war with six players and several non-combatants looking on. The third event was in August. Since it was pretty darn hot, attendance was a little low for that one. The fourth was on November 9, with seven participants and a number of non-combatants enjoying the perfect weather. The final event of 2001 was on December 29 and celebrated the end of Eric Rivera's bachelorhood (picture below). The next event after that was on February 23, 2002. We had an unusually large turn-out (10 players) and everyone had a great time. Another event was on November 9, 2002. The menu for the event was meatball sandwiches for lunch, fajitas for dinner and homemade chocolate chip cookies for evening noshing, so everyone was kept well-fed before, during and after the war to keep up their strength for running and trash-talking.
We also sometimes host a LAN party during the summer because, c'mon...no one really wants to run around in fatigues during a Texas summer. The first was the entire weekend of July 26-28, 2002, and it proved to be quite a good time. So good, infact, the we held "Geekfest 2003" on July 18-20, 2003. |
