The
last few years have been full of change for us. We moved into
our new home in 2007 in time to
celebrate Thanksgiving here. Since then we've taken trips to New
Jersey,
Seattle and Mt.
Rainier (for an escape from the Austin summer heat, where
we found both an abundance of beautiful wildlife and SNOW - very
exciting for Texans, y'all)! Trips to Philadelphia and Toronto
also offered us the opportunity to meet up with far-away friends.
For
my last few birthdays, Matt
gave me a gorgeous new camera and some accessories, so I've been
enjoying experimenting with lots of pictures, too.
And,
most recently, baby Donovan joined our family and we couldn't
be happier. Learn more about him at his
page.

Matt's
been doing very well in his career in diagnostic
sonography.
He's earned
certifications in diagnostic abdominal sonography (liver, kidneys,
gallbladder, spleen, pancreas) and vascular sonography (arteries
and veins), and will soon add another certification in echocardiography
(heart).
He
also recently took a turn at teaching ultrasonography at his alma
mater and enjoyed the challenge and new skills he gained from
it.

I'm
finishing up my Master's
of Science in Nursing through UT-Austin and am now a registered
nurse! I'm working in a Labor & Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum
unit taking care of pregnant women and newborns. There's so much
to learn but I love it!
In
my former life I worked as a publicist, both independently and
with an agency, primarily for tech companies. I got to write,
do press tour scheduling, do story pitching, and handle whatever
else needed to be done for my clients' media interactions. It
was fun but I was driven to switch to nursing because of my children.
I think I made the right choice.

Clayton
is 8.5 years old and still a great kid (not that we're biased
or anything). He enjoys school and is doing well in all his studies.
Lately he's also been staying busy with the Boy Scouts and his
karate lessons.
Some
of his favorite toys at home are still his action figures of animals,
dinosaurs and knights - he's nothing if not consistent - but his
all-time favorite thing to do is play World
of Warcraft (after homework) and he's gotten pretty adept
at his skills. The game has also motivated him to further improve
his reading and spelling so he can play better.

Donovan
Vincent joined us on April 21, 2009. When he's not idolizing big
brother Clayton, he's busy crawling, cruising and practicing walking
all over the house these days. Learn more about him here! |

Diana
Sarah was born on Oct. 22, 2004. Our little fighter. We love and
miss her very much. You can read her story in the "Diana"
section. You can also see a video I made for her and her brother,
Brendan, on YouTube
here. |

Brendan
William was born on June 26, 2005. His hair was dark and wavy and
his fingers long and delicate. We were allowed just over two precious
days with him and love and miss him deeply. You can read his story
in his "Brendan" section.
You can also watch the video I made for what would have been his
3rd birthday here
on YouTube. |
