The last year has been very busy for us. In November, 2007, we moved into our new home in time to celebrate Thanksgiving there. Unfortunately, my Nana died shortly thereafter so I headed up to New Jersey for her funeral. Being able to spend time while there with friends and family that I'd been long-parted from made her loss easier.

We also visited Seattle and Mt. Rainier in June, 2008, for an escape from the Austin summer heat. In the process we found both an abundance of beautiful wildlife and SNOW (very exciting for Texans, y'all)!

For my birthday, Matt gave me a gorgeous new camera so I've been taking lots more pictures, too.

Of course, now that my sister and brother are touring through Italy we felt we also needed to go on an equally exotic summer trip. Therefore, we've booked tickets to the next best place...Philadelphia! OK, it may not be the NEXT best to Italy, but we are genuinely psyched to be headed up to see an armload of friends. Much fun and hugs are expected to be had by all.

Matt's doing well in his career in diagnostic sonography, on which he embarked in 2003.

He's already earned certifications in diagnostic abdominal sonography (liver, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas) and vascular sonography (arteries and veins), and will soon add another certification in echocardiography (heart).

I'm working on my Master's of Science in Nursing through UT's Alternate Entry program to become a registered nurse. I love it so far and hope to eventually work in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Wish me luck!

I formerly did PR, both independently and for an agency, mostly for tech companies. I got to write, do press tour scheduling, do story pitching, and handle whatever else needed to be done for my clients' media interactions. It was fun but I was driven to switch to nursing because of my children. I think I've made the right choice.

Clayton is now 7 years old and still an angel of a kid. He enjoys school and is doing well learning to read and spell. His favorite toys are still his dinosaurs and toy knights - he's nothing if not consistent. But his all-time favorite thing to do is play World of Warcraft (after homework) and he's gotten pretty adept at his skills. The game has also motivated him to further improve his reading and spelling so he can better play.

Diana Sarah was born on Oct. 22, 2004. Our little fighter. We love and miss her very much. You can read her story in the "Diana" section. You can also see a video I made for her and her brother, Brendan, on YouTube here.
Brendan William was born on June 26, 2005. His hair was dark and wavy and his fingers long and delicate. We were allowed just over two precious days with him and love and miss him deeply. You can read his story in his "Brendan" section. You can also see the video I made for his 3rd birthday here on YouTube.
